(MENARA ALOR SETAR)
Located in the hearth of Alor Setar, it is on the tallest telecomuniocations tower in the word. It is a prominent and modern landmark that signifies the rapid develop[ment in the state of kedah. The tower serves the role as a telecommunications tower and also as a tourist destinations
It is a heritage structure in Kedah, built along Jalan Pekan Melayu in the hearth of Alor Seta. The original structure was built by Sultan Muhammad Jiwa Zainal Abidin as an Audience Hall. Then the hall was clestroyed twice by the Bugis invasion in 1770 and the Siamese invasion in1821. The current structure was revamped in 1893 duning the regin of Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah.
Just located across the road from Alor Setar Tower, the Balai Nobat (Hall of Drums) is a three-tiered octagonal shaped tower built to store musical instruments of Nobat-royal Malay orchestra that comprises of drums,gongs,traditional flute ang others.
MERDEKA HOUSE (RUMAH MERDEKA)
The Merdeka House was belonged to late Tunku Abdul Rahman, first prime minister of Malaysia
SULTAN ABDUL HALIM GALLERY
Located in Medan Bandaraya opposite to Zahir Mosque, Wisma Negeri, and adjacent to Balai Besar and Balai Nobat, originally Sultan Abdul Halim Galerry was Alor Setar High Court.
TUN DR. MAHATHIR MOHAMAD’S BIRTH PLACE
A tall house built in wooden-based with nipah palm roof without painted, it is where Malaysia’s fourth Primer Minister was born. The house at Lorong Kilang was built by Tun Dr. Mahathir’s father and the gouse ad only one room without any stairs. Visitors can know more about the former Prime Minister and his modest childhood life in the house. Today it is a historical building under National Archives Department.
